LOCHORE Meadows Country Park will be the place to be next weekend.

Plans are at an advanced stage for what is likely to be the last major outdoor event of the year at the Meedies with an open weekend in the park on 5th and 6th September, from 11am to 4pm both days.

Said Park manager Ian Laing, “The focus is primarily showcasing the various activities we have on offer and incorporating the various people we work with throughout the year.

“There will be putting on the golf course, rafted canoe trips on the loch and a climbing wall courtesy of our outdoor education team and Ardroy outdoor activity centre.

“There will also be boat trips around the loch, golf buggy tours around the park, a bbq, various food and craft stalls, face painting, glitter tattoos, birds of prey, fly fishing, interpretation stands showing outdoor skills and the archaelogy at Lochore Castle, as well axe throwing and hopefully some pony and trap rides plus the Army reserves.

“There will also be an opportunity to see various bikes for sale in connection with the cycle facility”.

Radio West Fife will be providing the music and a large children’s funfair will be available. The only charge is £1 for parking though there may be an additional fee or donation requested for some activities.

“Last year’s event saw around 6000 people in the park so we will be hoping for even more this year,” added Ian.
