The primary sevens at Benarty put on a ‘magic’ show to celebrate the end of their time at primary school.

The show was called ‘Move It’ and was based on a story about competing dance groups. The show was action packed with dance, music, singing and dialogue.

Strutting their stuff were pupils who formed the dance groups: Blaze, NRJ, and Hypnotiks who, in the show, were all competing for a place in a regional dance contest. The twist in the tale was that Blaze were used to winning but needed some teamwork from one of the troop’s brother. All pupils ‘danced their socks off’ to a nail biting finale.

P7 class teachers Heather Penman, Natalie Clark and Katrina Morgan, rehearsed the children over the last term and all P7 pupils were included in the cast with the Additional Support Class P.7s performing alongside their mainstream peers. The show was performed over two sessions over two days to give all parents the opportunity to see the pupils’ superb performance.

Retirng Depute Headteacher Maureen Pickering said, “All the cast and staff did brilliantly. They certainly left their mark on Benarty as an exceptionally talented year group! “A huge thank you to all our P7s and to the hard working teachers! Very well done!”
