The LLLP are delighted to announce that OJT Heritage has successful won the archaeology tender to deliver the years 2 and 3 of archaeology activities for the Living Lomonds. A new schedule of training events is being developed, including workshops on ancient finds and archaeology drawing skills, identification and conservation of William Rae 1818 Boundary Stones in the Lomond Hills, and creative workshops for local school pupils.

The highlight of the year will be ‘Big Dig 2015’, which it is hoped will be in the Lochore area.

Amanda McFarlane, CEO of Fife Coast and Countryside Trust and Chair of the LLLP commented, “I am delighted that the Big Dig is coming to Lochore Meadows.

“Last year’s event was a great success and I am sure this year’s will be even more fun, I would urge anyone who wants a great day out to come along and get involved.” She added, “We are running a workshop on Non Native Invasive Species identification in conjunction with The River Forth Fisheries Trust next month.

“It will take place on Tuesday 3rd March 9:30am to 1pm at the Main Park Centre, at Lochore Meadows Country Park. We’ll be going out into the park to look for invasive species – wear warm/waterproof clothing and sturdy footwear.” Using money raised through the National Lottery, the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) aims to make a lasting difference for heritage, people and communities across the UK and help build a resilient heritage economy.
