LOCHORE Meadows Country Park is gearing up for the start of the 2015 fishing season on Sunday 1st March.

The tender process for the supply of fish has seen the appointment of a supplier and regular and new fishermen have been buying their permits and looking forward to another season by the water.

Park manager Ian Laing said, "There are one or two small changes to the way it is intended to manage the fishing this year.

"All payments will be taken at the main park centre to prevent fishermen queuing at the outdoor education building.

"Boats will have to be booked 24 hours in advance which allows the fishing staff to spend more time preventing poaching and ensuring one fee means one rod. "Fish will be delivered on a Thursday or Friday and will be put into the water at more than one location.

"There is also a rumour circulating that fishing will cease at 9pm every night. We're not sure where that came from but fishing will cease at dusk just as it always has.

"The other good news is that prices have been kept at 2014 levels".
