THE remaining five of the BRAG Connect Group (ex Remploy factory workers, Cowdenbeath) decided they would like to raise funds for the local food bank in Benarty.

It was decided that they would hold a Coffee Morning/Tombola and last Tuesday it was a huge success.

Lots of coffee and cake were consumed and many prizes won on the tombola as people called in to see what was happening and on the day a total of £170 was raised. There is still an ongoing raffle of a painting, donated by Billy Zima, of Identity Art Works, and they hope to raise further funds through this.

After the coffee morning the group visited the Benarty foodbank to find out how it works and see how the money raised would be put to good use.

The money will be used to purchase goods on a weekly basis depending on what the food bank requires at the time.

The group would like to thank the staff at BRAG and the local community who attended the coffee morning and for all the kind donations.

Provost Jim Leishman was one of the visitors to the coffee morning/tombola. The picture also hows the group members; John Oates (manager at BRAG); and Stephen Nardone, of the food bank in Benarty.
