A DOG-LOVER from Scotlandwell has taken her passion for her four-legged friends and turned it into a business offering home care to pooches across Fife.
Elaine Warburton grew up with Cocker Spaniels and now owns three Springer Spaniels - Woody, Shadow and Bracken. Her love for dogs prompted her to leap at the chance to buy the Fife franchise of Barking Mad - a service which matches dogs up with suitable homes as an alternative to kennels.
“Kennels isn’t for everyone,” explained Elaine. “I wouldn’t put my own dogs in, they’re like family to me. What I do is find a host family for the dog to mirror the habits it’s used to, in terms of walking, feeding, even sleeping on the bed! It’s about trying to find a home away from home and the perfect host for the animal.” Elaine’s new venture is open to dog owners across Fife, including Cowdenbeath and Lochgelly.
