IT MIGHT BE into October, but the sun was still shining brightly for the weekend’s action at Lochore Meadows Country Park, where thousands turned up for a gala on Saturday and Sunday last week.

Fife radio station Kingdom FM organised a day packed with activities on the Saturday, with lots of events for adults and kids alike, while the park’s first ever farmer’s market was held on the Sunday.

Park manager Ian Laing doesn’t think the two days of family fun could have gone any better.

“It was absolutely perfect,” he said. “It was very busy - a bit slow to start on Saturday but going into Sunday it was absolutely mobbed.

“We’re estimating there were between 2500 and 3000 people in the park.

“The feedback we received was very positive - helped by the weather of course! Some of the people with stalls told us they managed to completely sell out of all their stock, and it was one of the most successful events they had attended. It was the same for both the craft stalls and the farmer’s market.

“We also did boat trips on the loch and tours around the park in golf-buggies, and people were queuing up to get on.

“There was just a huge range of people there, from nine months old to 91! It was a massively great weekend.”
