WITH Remembrance Sunday five weeks away the project to have the Benarty War Memorial re-sited in time is making good progress.
Benarty Community Council have been spearheading the campaign and the memorial’s new site at Lochleven Road is approaching readiness.
Community council chairman, Stephen Nardone, reported this week that a record of the names of people from Lochore, Crosshill, Ballingry and Glencraig, who had fallen in conflicts was being compiled and would be appended to the memorial at its new site.
Meanwhile things were looking very positive that the memorial will be ready for this year’s Armistce Day service which will be held on Sunday 9th November.
