BALLINGRY Loyal Rangers Supporters Club members took the air in their latest fundraising venture.

Earlier this year junior members of the club raised a substantial sum for Down’s Syndrome and this time it was the senior members who raised a significant total by taking part in the CN Tower Edge Walk, while in Toronto, Canada, for the North American Rangers Supporters Annual Convention.

Two of the party, John Fraser and Greig Wilson took part in the TEW and raised the excellent sum of £2194 for the Rangers Charity Foundation, while John raised a further £752 for Down’s Syndrome.

John and Greig are pictured carrying out the edge walk 1168 feet above ground level on the CN Tower, one of the tallest free standing structures in the world.

More recently Adele Westwater and her mum took part in the Race for Life and raised the sum of £237 for Cancer Research.

Said club secretary David Wilson, “As a club we normally carry out support of charity and worthwhile causes with the minimum of fuss and publicity, however, we felt that members, families and friends deserve a special mention and thanks due to their magnificent efforts, which have resulted in £30,000 being raised and donated by the club, its members and friends, to both local and national causes since the club was established in 1976, and we hope that this trend can continue for many years to come.”
