ACTING aggressively towards his partner after an argument led to a Court appearance for one man this week.

John Gibson, 44, whose address on Court papers was given as Tarvit Mill Hostel, Cupar, but was read out in Court as Gunnit Court, Edinburgh, appeared for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Wednesday.

He had previously admitted that on March 15 at Castle Avenue, Crosshill, he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner which was likely to cause a reasonable person to suffer fear or alarm by shouting, swearing, pursuing his partner around and acting in an aggressive manner.

He also breached bail conditions preventing him from contacting his partner or entering Castle Avenue the following day.

Depute Fiscal Jennifer Graham said an argument had broken out in the morning between the couple regarding their children and Gibson then began to act in an aggressive manner.

Solicitor Chris Sneddon said at the time of the offence, his client was trying to self medicate and come off substances which he had been misusing.

Sheriff Craig McSherry placed Gibson on a community payback order with supervision for 12 months.
