STAFF at the Victoria Hospital are to benefit from a donation made by a Central Fife family in memory of their dad.

David Cree, of Ballingry, passed away last month at the age of 75 and daughter Kim said they were so touched by the way he was looked after in ward 44 that they wanted to do something to say thank-you.

"He got taken in through admissions and taken up to ward 44 and they were just fantastic," she said. "We knew my dad was dying but didn't think it would be as quick.

"He was only in maybe five or six days but from when he went into the unit, they couldn't do enough for us.

"My partner had said there are sometimes donation boxes at funerals and I said I wanted to do it for the hospital as they did everything for him."

From money collected at David's funeral, the family were able to buy a television and two hampers for ward staff.
