BENARTY preacher Craig Munro, has been in India and Sri Lanka on two separate trips for around five weeks in total and has been delighted to be able help develop projects in the Sub Continent. Craig, is a full time Christian Preacher and Teacher and is a member of the Glencraig Gospel Hall.

He regularly contributes to ‘thought for the week’ in the Central Fife Times. Speaking of his visit to India/Sri Lanka he said: “This has been something I have wanted to do for many years but lacked the opportunity.

"I have had many direct connections with India for over 20 years and had an interest in Sri Lanka for some time.”

Craig went out to meet specific people to discuss various projects/plans and preached each day to large congregations of Christians in a variety of places, as well as making visits to schools.

He said, “I was honoured by meeting the people and to be in their homes, humbled by their poverty, and encouraged by their faith and happiness.”

Craig did not go alone to India, a friend, Josh, originally from Kerala but now a consultant orthopaedic surgeon in London, accompanied him. His friend and fellow preacher Jack Hay went with him to Sri Lanka. Jack is a seasoned traveller to Sri Lanka having visited the country over 20 times.

Glencraig Gospel Hall's Indian Connection spans three generations. The Story Started – in Kirkland Gardens, Ballingry!

In 1982 Craig’s grandfather, Kenneth A Munro, retired from Beath High School as Principal Teacher of Physics. Immediately upon retiring he began to edit a Christian Magazine called Present Truth and amazingly it ended up in India being translated into several Indian dialects – Malyalam, Hindi, Kanada, Telegu etc and that was just the beginning.
