THE snow may have been thick on the ground at Lochore Meadows Country Park on Friday, but the man who is in charge of the future development of the programme at one of Scotland's major visitor attractions is already piecing together some amazing events for the 2018 season.

And he and his staff were delighted to be able to fully move into the hub of the new £1.8m park facilities last week.

They have quickly settled in and already a number of major events have been booked in to the park diary.

Manager of the Meadows Park, Ian Laing, is delighted with the new Willie Clarke Visitor Centre which is now fully open to the public with it's excellent cafe facility ready to cater for the public's needs no matter what the season is.

Said Mr Laing: "It has seemed quite a long time since work started on the construction of the new facility but in effect it has only been a few months although we have all been really keen to get in and start our work in this lovely facility.

"The old centre was a bit tired after having served the park well over four decades but now we have the start of a new era at the Meedies.

"This is a purpose built facility which has spacious rooms that the public can use and enjoy whether it be while using the cafe or holding meetings.

"It really is a fantastic boost to be able to move into the facility after getting news from Visit Scotland that last year the park again attracted over 600,000 visitors."
