SANTA came to Benarty on Friday evening and the streets were packed with people watching the parade head up through Crosshill, Lochleven Road, Lochore, and Ballingry Road on the way to the Community Centre.

The festive lighting has got better each year and really brightened the villages for the 2017 event.

Santa Benarty’s Parade, included reindeers and left Lochore Welfare's ground at 5pm heading through Crosshill, (Main Street), Lochore (Lochleven Road) and Ballingry (Ballingry Crescent onto Flockhouse Avenue).

Glow sticks were given out along the route to the hundreds of children who enjoyed the spectacle.

Santa waved enthusiastically to the crowds and they responded as the festive feel really hit Benarty

The weather was very cold but dry and it all helped encourage a tremendous turn out.

The reindeer were very popular with the children who wanted to get a close-up of the animals.

At the Community Centre the Christmas entertainment included Santa’s grotto whch was soon very busy while a magician had the audience wondering what was coming next, and a clown, face painting and bouncy castles all made it a fun evening.

Outside there was a Reindeer display, Teacups, Go Karts plus the ICE RINK!!!

The ice rink proved to be a big attraction, especially for the younger element, but there were a few older people willing to have a go.

There was also music in a really top class community evening in Benarty.

Then on Saturday the Xmas Fayre took place in the big hall between 11am and 2pm.

Entertainment at Benarty Centre included Santa’s Grotto, a Face Painter, the Ice Rink and Funfair Rides.

The Benarty Events Group who organised the events, were delighted with the outcome and the way that the public backed what had been organised.

Said the Group's Michael O'Hare: "We could not have asked for a better evening weatherwise on Friday and it led to everyone having a great time.

"Saturday too was excellent and we thank everyone who made it all possible and the people of the area for coming out to support it."
