LOCHORE youngster Hallie Burnside has been celebrating her pet hamster Higgles becoming the Times' Pet Idol 2017.
Hallie, from Montrose Crescent, was presented with the £300 prize on Thursday and she has already organised to buy Higgles a new house!
The seven year-old said: "Higgles is getting much bigger now so I feel, with the success in the competition, she deserved to get a new house."
Hallie's mum Laura said: "We have to thank our family, friends and neighbours for their support.
"They were brilliant, saving their copies of the Times for me to collect to fill in the voting form.
"Hallie loves playing getting Higgles to play with her so a new house is the least she can get her pet after becoming Pet Idol and I think she also is going to get the pet a pile of food."
