A LOCHORE man drove while disqualified trying to make it back home before his tag curfew started.
James Canning, 34, of Lochleven Road, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court, this week.
He admitted that on May 5 at Kildownie Crescent and Westwood Crescent, Ballingry, he drove while disqualified and without insurance.
Defence solicitor, Alexander Flett, said the driving ban had been imposed in 2005 and his client thought it had expired.
He did not realise that the sentence was disqualification until he passed the driving test again.
Mr Flett said that Canning was concerned he was going to breach his restriction of liberty order curfew by not getting back home in time and borrowed his friend’s car.
“He was trying to get home before 7pm and his friend couldn’t give him a lift because he too was subject to a restriction of liberty order,” added Mr Flett.
Sheriff Craig McSherry called for reports and imposed an ad interim driving ban until sentencing on August 30.
