BENARTY Gala goes ahead on Sunday and Lochore Meadows Country Park can expected thousands of visitors.

The parade will leave Benarty Centre, in Ballingry, at noon and head up Flockhouse Avenue and into Ballingry Road before going down Lochleven Road, Lochore and Main Street, Crosshill, towards the park.

There will several floats in the parade and there will be a number of recruitment units from the armed forces taking part along with Army Reserves.

Units taking part will include navy cadets from all over Fife, RAF cadets from all over Fife, Black Watch Army Cadets, Recruitment units from 3 & 7 Scots Black Watch, the Yeomanry Cupar, Royal Artillery Arbroath and Kirkcaldy, 154 RLC Dunfermline, 152 Field Medical Glenrothes, the Scots Guards Edinburgh, and SMVP Military Vehicles Scotland.

There will also be bands and local groups taking part in what will be a colourful parade and at the park a host of activities are planned.

Said James Fotheringham, who is one of the organising group: "There will also be an amazing escort of bikers in the parade made up from various groups and individuals.

"There will be the Veteran's Bikers, British Legion Bikers, The Widows Sons, and the Kingdom Bike Night Bikers to name but a few.

"If you have a motor bike and fancy joining in, the parade leaves Benarty Centre at 12 noon".

The gala committee is hoping for a big turn out of the Benarty public with the weather set to be fine.
