THIS week's Down Memory Lane selection comes from Ballingry man Alex Hunter and looks at the time when restoration work started at Lochore Meadows.

One of the pictures shows the dramatic scene when work started to clear up one of the water features created by the mining work.

Another shows a rather solitary remnant of coal mining, a winding wheel, while there is also a graphic scene of the water cooling towers which were situated where the park now is. These were just about to come down.

The final picture is a wintry scene with the old pit buildings starkly standing out.

If you have a picture you would like to see in our Down Memory Lane feature send it to editorial@centralfifetimes.co.uk or take it to the Times Office on a Monday or a Friday.
