VANDALISM saw Benarty Primary School closed to children yesterday.
The attack took place late on Monday night with considerable damage done to the reception area and other areas of the main building.
The decision was also taken to close the nursery with a considerable amount of broken glass lying around the playground and building.
Police investigations soon produced results and a man was arrested and is expected to appear in court this week.
Repairs were carried out to the building and the school is expected to re-open today.
Our picture shows the main hall of the building where the kids who won the prestigious East of Scotland science competition are seen with their creation.
