A BALLINGRY woman who threatened a neighbour then assaulted an ex partner and his girlfriend was this week placed on a community payback order.

Ashley Lewis, 29, had drank vodka in an effort to cope with a recent miscarriage and depression, however ,then caused two disturbances near her home.

Lewis, of Kirkland Gardens, appeared for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Wednesday after previously admitting that on April 3, she behaved in a threatening or abusive manner in Kirkland Gardens when she shouted, swore, uttered offensive and threatening remarks, kicked and struck a door and causing damage to it.

On the same day, at Kirktoun Gardens, she also assaulted a woman by seizing her by the hair and clothing and pulling her hair and scratching her on the head.

She also assaulted her former partner by punching him on the head and wilfully or recklessly destroyed or damaged property belonging to another by striking a car and causing damage to it.

Depute fiscal, Claire Bremner, said at around 11pm, Lewis' neighbour was in her home address when she heard someone in the back garden and a female voice shouting abuse.

When she looked out, she saw Lewis – was in bare foot and wearing pyjamas – so opened the window and asked what was going on before Lewis' partner arrived and took her back into her own property.

Shortly after, Lewis returned and was again shouting and swearing. "She approached the front door and was banging on it and shouting I am going to kill you," Ms Bremner told the Court.

Soon after, Lewis ex partner looked out of his window and saw the accused banging and striking his current partner's car.

When she came to her front door, Lewis grabbed her by the hair and clothing, ripping her t-shirt.

"The ex partner attempted to intervene and get Lewis away, however, she then punched him him to the right side of his face before leaving," added Ms Bremner. "As she was leaving, she threw stones at the window of the woman's car."

Defence solicitor, Ian Beatson, said two weeks prior, Miss Lewis had miscarried. On the day of the offences she had been due to have a 12 week scan.

He added: "She suffers from depression and advised me she is not a drinker but on the day of the incident, she had consumed vodka because she was depressed and upset about the miscarriage."

Sheriff Craig McSherry placed Lewis on a Community Payback Order which included 12 months' supervision and 140 hours of unpaid work.
