THE hard working Benarty Fundraisers help their annual donation night last Tuesday when they gave out more money to local good causes than ever before.

This year the Fundraisers did things a little differently, they asked via social media and an add in The Central Fife Times for local groups to be nominated who could benefit from a cash injection.

Lea McLelland, the Fundraisers' secretary, said: "We as a group felt there may be groups being missed because we don't know they existed and this proved to be correct as we doubled the cheques handed out and more than doubled the amount of money handed over with a total of 20 groups receiving £6750 between them."

This year they also invited some special guests along to present the cheques that were donated to the successful groups, the amazing people who step in to help organise and arrange their events and raise the money they are able to donate each year.

The Fundraisers were delighted to present two special donations of £1000 each to Benarty Events group for Benarty Gala; and Dunmore Nursery Toddlers for a much needed Pram Shelter at the nursery.

Other recipients who all received £250 were Benarty Cottage Craft, Benarty Astros 10s, Benarty Astros 2008, Benarty Community Council, Benarty Family Group, Lochore Castle Football Club, Benarty Community Shop, Benarty Primary School Parents Council, St Kenneth's Primary School Parents Council, Lochore Meedie's Running Club, Benarty Elderly Forum, Benarty Bumbles, Benarty Ladies Circle, Lochore Bowling Club, Benarty Nursery, St Kenneth's Nursery, Benarty Centre Crèche & Kids Come First.

Lea also suggested that there may be a few surprises still to come before 2017 is over.

Benarty Fundraisers would like to take this opportunity to thank the people of Benarty for their continue support and help throughout the year, without it they could not keep doing what they do.
