AN ARGUMENT in Dunfermline's McDonalds car park ended up with a driver being punched in the face.

The incident resulted in an appearance at Dunfermline Sheriff Court for David Mckay.

Mckay, 27, of Crosshill, admitted that on August 16 at McDonalds, Fife Leisure Park, Dunfermline, he assaulted an 18-year-old by seizing him by the body and punching him on the face.

Depute fiscal Dev Kapadia said the victim had gone to McDonalds with his friends.

Having come out, they went back to his car and were leaving when he stopped near the entrance to talk to someone he knew.

“He became aware of the accused coming out of the parking space, which restricted the space for the complainer to pass," Mr Kapadia said.

“The accused became agitated and told the complainer to move his car. The accused continued to drive forward and started to shout. Mckay got out of his car and walked over to the other vehicle, reaching into the open window, grabbing hold of him and punching him once on the head. The matter was then reported to the police."

Defence solicitor Roshni Joshi said her client believed a comment had been made to his partner before he became involved.

Ms Joshi said her client was currently unemployed. “His behaviour was not acceptable or justified,” she added.

Sheriff Craig McSherry imposed a fine of £400.
