Benarty Primary School pupils have been busy with an exciting project to get families learning together in the great outdoors.

This eight week programme started with P1, P2 and P3 classes building dens together with their families, lead by Fife play resource staff.

The following week the children and families took part in litter picking at Lochore Meadows.

Future activities will include looking for indigenous wild life, bird watching, bug hunts and finding out where our food comes from.

Paula Wilson, who lead the initiative told the Times: "The project is aimed at raising attainment within the early school years through family engagement, so far we have had a hugely positive response from our parents in supporting this every week.

" We’ve also had tremendous support from local businesses and organisations.

"I’d like to take this opportunity to thank people who have supported the project so far, which will help us to build links within our community as well as fully engage families in school life for many years to come.”
