WITH the sun high in the sky on New Year's Day Lochore Meadows Country Park was a very inviting place for people looking to back Benarty Fundraisers' Splash4Cash.

Around 60 people volunteered to head in to the park's loch to raise money for local good causes.

The dookers were pipe down to the loch's edge and after the ball was launched the rush started to hit the water and get the prize for reaching it first.

In calm conditions with the sun shining, it was a perfect day for the Splash4Cash event.

A goodly gathering of friends and family gathered to cheer the Splashers in to the loch.

The Fundraisers’ James Fotheringham said: “It was a really good day for the Splash, albeit with a nip in the air and it was great to see a goodly number of youngsters taking part.

"It was brilliant to see so many people delighted to hit the water for our charity fundraiser and there was a great buzz about the park."

Added James: “The Fundraisers are all about raising money for good causes in the Benarty area including helping some of the activities organised by the Events Group.

"Every pound raised goes in to helping support events in Benarty and there was a some excellent support for our Splashers."

The Benarty Food Bank van was also at the park and it received a lot of items handed in Splashers and their supporters.
