A 35-year-old man caused a stand-off with police officers after climbing on to the roof of a building and throwing slates down into the street.

Scott Pratt also threatened his former partner in Cardenden as he repeatedly kicked at her door in a previous incident.

Pratt, of Ancrum Court, Glenrothes, was jailed when he appeared from custody at Dunfermline Sheriff Court for sentencing for a catalogue of offences.

He admitted that on March 25, at Kirkburn Drive, Bowhill, he repeatedly struck the door, shouted, swore and acted aggressively. He also damaged a window pane there.

He breached bail on March 24 and 25 when he repeatedly contacted his ex-partner.

At Kirkburn Drive, he climbed on to the roof, pulled slates from it and threw them to the ground to the danger of police officers and other people there.

He also admitted that on June 19 last year at Cluny Park, Cardenden, he acted in an aggressive manner towards his former partner by shouting, swearing and making threats of violence.

He then returned to her house, repeatedly kicked a door there leaving it unusable and smashed a glass panel.

On August 30, at Kirkburn Drive, Bowhill, he breached his bail conditions when he was in the company of his ex-partner. And on September 21 at Kerrar Place, Glenrothes, he breached bail, when he was again in her company. The same day, at Kerrar Place, he resisted police officers by struggling violently with them.

On November 7, at Broomhead Drive, Dunfermline, he failed to comply with curfew conditions and breached bail by contacting his ex-partner and was in her company.

Defence solicitor Alan Davie said: “He needs to address sexual jealousy issues.”

Sheriff Susan Duff told Pratt: “You deliberately and repeatedly snubbed your nose at the court.”

She jailed him for 26-and-a-half months and also imposed a non-harassment order lasting three years.
