A WHITE flat-bed truck was stolen from a driveway in Kingseat while a mum and her child were inside the house.
Police are appealing for information about the theft at Keirsbeath Court which happened between 8am and noon on Saturday June 26.
Debbie Boner, who runs a property development company, BNR Developments, with husband Liam, said: "I would love to find out what's happened to it.
"I've heard thieves often put fake plates on trucks and vans to re-sell or use them to go to a building site and steal lots of equipment and then abandon the truck somewhere.
"From speaking to the police and the insurance company, they don't seem very hopeful of us getting it back as this seems to be rife.
"Our only hope is that CCTV at the recycling centre at Cowdenbeath or at the building site at the old Halfway House Hotel will have picked something up."
She continued: "I was in at the time. This is our home and we run the business from here so there's a car, van and the truck.
"I was in the whole time with our toddler running around but the way our house is it's only the office that faces the front of the street so I didn't see or hear anything.
"I'm a bit spooked and I suppose it's a lesson to be super-vigilant and to be very careful where you keep keys for your vehicles."
Debbie added: "They must have been opportunists.
"The keys were in the office on the worktop as the boys need access to it.
"Someone must have leaned in through the window and taken them.
"They're the only keys we keep in the office. There was lots of valuable stuff like laptops too but they were just interested in the truck."
The truck has the registration plate YS12 FBG and has red-and-yellow Highway Maintenance flashing on the back of it.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "On Saturday at 12.40pm, officers received a report that a flat-bed truck had been stolen from an address in Keirsbeath Court.
"Anyone who knows where the vehicle is now should contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting 1544 of Saturday June 26, 2021."
