MEMBERS of the Kelty and District Art Group were shown round the Scottish Parliament recently by Cowdenbeath MSP Annabelle Ewing.

The artists had the chance to sit in on First Minister's Questions with Nicola Sturgeon and were given a tour of the building.

Ms Ewing said: “I am glad that the members of the art group had a good day out learning more about the machinery of our democracy and getting the opportunity to appreciate some of the art work that decorate the parliament buildings.

“Having been a member of both the House of Commons and the Scottish Parliament, one of the things that I find so important about our parliament in Edinburgh is how much more accessible it is to the public than Westminster. Not just in terms of basic geography but in the whole ethos of the place.

“I am always very keen to meet with groups and individuals from my constituency who are visiting parliament and I would encourage people to do so.

“Anyone who is interested in taking a trip should contact my constituency office or the parliament’s visitor services for assistance in making arrangements.”
