THE resourcefulness of the Cardenden Village Fair committee was praised by Cowdenbeath MSP Annabelle Ewing.

Ms Ewing said that the work of the organisers in successfully re-staging the event after its postponement due to adverse weather conditions the previous week was outstanding.

The MSP was at the event held at Wallsgreen Park and enjoyed the event which attracted upwards of 2,000 people.

Speaking after the Fair, Ms Ewing said: “I want to say a massive ‘well done’ to the organisers of the Cardenden Village Fair for putting on a great summer event and for their determination to see this annual popular fixture go ahead after it was postponed due to extremely heavy rain.

“Rescheduling an event like this at the last minute is no mean feat so it was a real triumph for everyone involved to have pulled it off".

She added: “The sun did come out and there were plenty of local and charity stalls for folk to support, lots of activities to watch and take part in.

"All in all, there was something for everyone.”
