LOCAL MSP Annabelle Ewing is a big fan of of Kelty's new community cafe.

Ms Ewing attended the opening of ‘Our Wee Café,’ a community initiative in the constituency.

Speaking after visiting Oor Wee Cafe after it had been open for its first day on Tuesday, Ms Ewing praised those involved, saying: “I was delighted to attend the launch of ‘Our Wee Café’ in Kelty.

“This is an excellent community initiative which offers a café-style meeting place for a bite to eat and a blether with no charge made".

The MSP for Cowdenbeath added: “Run by excellent local volunteers who have put a lot of work into getting this project off the ground, ‘Our Wee Cafe’ is a great example of a community doing it for themselves.

“This fantastic initiative will help to tackle social exclusion and offers help to those in need.

"I can also personally attest that it provides fabulous stovies and brownies as well as having a pot of home-made soup on the go.

“Thanks are also due to the Co-op for generously providing food by donating their end of day produce.

"I would encourage Kelty folk to drop in and get involved in supporting this wonderful venture, I know that they are always on the lookout for new volunteers".

Our Wee Café will be open every Tuesday from 12noon – 2.00pm in Kelty Community Centre. Lifts are available to those who have difficulty travelling to the Community Centre – just contact Jackie Cooper on 07449 474755.
