A HIGHLY successful local business has moved into a new bigger base.

Moorelands Travel has opened a new facility on High Street utilising a former bank building.

The new location was previously an RBS bank and brings together small branches in Kelty and Cowdenbeath to create a flagship store for people seeking holiday and travel advice. However, Moorelands also retains its outlet in Kinross.

Owned and managed by Marie Shevas, the relocation has more than doubled the size of the original branches in Kelty Main Street and on the High Street in Cowdenbeath.

Ten staff work at the new Cowdenbeath branch, which includes a foreign currency bureau as well as a private appointment room.

Marie, who co-runs Moorelands with managing director Scott Paterson, was delighted to be able to see the business move into such spacious accommodation.

She said: “Opening such an expansive store in the heart of Cowdenbeath is so exciting – I can hardly believe how far we have come in the past seven years.

“Customer service is at the heart of everything we do. I firmly believe that clients now value exceptional and personalised service over cheap deals when considering a holiday purchase.”

Provost Jim Leishman called in last Friday at a special day which saw the travel industry visiting the new base and on the Saturday Cowdenbeath chairman Donald Findlay carried out the public opening.
