COWDENBEATH MSP Annabelle Ewing has welcomed the agreement between Fife Council and Stagecoach that will save users of the Halbeath and Ferrytoll Park & Ride facilities from having to pay a £1 charge.
Speaking on Friday Ms Ewing said: “I am pleased that Fife Council have responded sensibly to the objections that were raised to the proposed £1 charge for using the Halbeath and Ferrytoll Park & Ride facilities.
“The negotiated agreement between the Council and bus operator Stagecoach means that the significant cost of running and maintain the sites will be shared but that there will be no financial barrier to commuters using the Park & Ride.
“This is a sensible solution to a difficult problem and I welcome the positive approach that has been taken by all concerned.”
