THE performance of a local band at the World Pipe Band Championships has received praise from a local MSP.
Annabelle Ewing, Member of the Scottish Parliament for the Cowdenbeath constituency, has congratulated Kelty & Blairadam Pipe Band for a fine performance at the World Pipe Band Championships last weekend where they finished runners-up in Grade 4b.
Speaking this week Ms Ewing said: “Well done to everyone involved with Kelty & Blairadam Pipe Band for their fine performance at the World Pipe Band Championships which were held in Glasgow over the weekend.
“To come second overall in their grade competition is a fantastic achievement, particularly since it represents their best result of the year, showing that they peaked perfectly for Worlds.
“This year’s result also represents significant progress from last year’s 15th place and I am sure that the band members will be looking forward to the opportunity to go one better next year!”
The Kelty band started out against 60 other combinations and did really well to make second.
