THE Central Fife Crime Prevention Panel and Police Scotland were at Sunday's Lochgelly Gala when panel members were happy to offer advice on community safety and fighting crime.

There was a lot of interest shown by people at the Public Park looking to get information on matters particular to their own concerns.

The panel reps also had a number of community safety gadgets for sale which proved popular.

Panel vice-chair, Dave Roy, said "There was a great turnout as usual and myself and Community Constable Gary Chrystal were able to pass on plenty tips and advice on how to keep safe as well as demonstrating how to avoid ATM fraud.

"We recently procured new personal attack alarms which went down a storm and the many Card Defenders passed to the public on the day will help to reduce people's contactless cards from being scammed".

The Panel will also be at the Cardenden Village Fair on Sunday August 26 so please people there will be able to go along and see what's on offer.

Councillor Rosemary Liewald, vice chair of Cowdenbeath Area Committee, takes a keen interest in the work of the panel and said: "The Crime Prevention Panel and the Community Police Team offers vital information and valuable assistance to our local communities and it's good to see them out on the field spreading the community safety message".
