SATURDAY saw the first Lochore Welfare Fun Day and what a great event it was.

Over 250 braved what was a poor day weatherwise to go along to Central Park, Crosshill, and enjoy a great afternoon.

As always John Gilfillan was on duty to organise the children’s races with a full entry for every with some very young runners giving it a go.

Brian Hodge was the resident compère for the day and kept the crowd entertained with his own brand of music and announcements.

The day day started with the distribution of the gala boxes which were supplied by Lochore based bakers, Baynes.

It has to be said that everyone loves a gala box and The Welfare Funday was no different.

All the children loved the Inflatables and the wristbands included with the gala ticket, were a massive success. The Beat The Goalie had a big entry from all ages and was one of the highlights of the afternoon.

Welfare chairman John Kirkland was delighted with the way the day went and added: "The Welfare would like to thank everyone who gave up their time to come and help with afternoon's proceedings.

"Gail and Michele, and their helpers did a fantastic job in putting this event on and we would like to thank everyone, including the sponsors who made this event happen. Roll on next year."
