Citizen of the year Zodiac School of Dance and Junior Citizen of the year Ava Stark will lead the parade from the West End Park. The dignitaries will decide what will be this years best float before departure at 11am. Participants who have a float will be battling out for the Best Float trophy and if it's anything like last year the judging is going to be very tough. We have decided to do the fancy dress down at the Public Park so any of the kids walking in the parade or in a float can be entered into the fancy dress which will be held shortly after John Gilfillan opens the gala at approx 12 noon. There will be prizes for 1st 2nd and 3rd in both catagories. The 2 age groups are 6 and under and 7-12 year olds. We have some great prizes for the winners. The route is the same as last year, down Zetland Place, along Main Street heading down Bank Street turning onto Auchterderran Road. Along Grainger Street then making our way to the bottom of the Public Park via Union Street.

There are 10 floats booked which there is no theme again this year and will be a surprise for all of us on the day to see. There are numerous groups/organisations that will be walking in the parade such as Lochgelly South, West, St Patricks schools, Lochgelly High School pipe band, Lochgelly Brass Band,Resonate Samba Band, Cowdenbeath Karate Club, Lochgelly Tae Kwon Do, Love to Dance, The Zodiac Dancers, F. Ferguson Dancers, Opera Care Home, Cowdenbeath Majorettes,New Foundland Dogs, Lochgelly Colts, American Mustang and Dodge cars, Magic Delboy the magician, Classic Cars, Bikers and a few more.

At the park there will be an abundance of things to do for the kids. There's variable inflatable rides, Birds of prey demonstrations, Horse riding, Face Painting, Highland Dancers, Soft Target Shooting, Train ride up and down the public park, Army inflatable assault course, There are 35+ community stalls booked in for the day along with fairground rides suitable for all ages. John Gilfillan will host the kids races and at the end there will be a tug of war. Anyone that has a bit of muscle then we'd like to see you take part. Barnie the 8ft T-REX will be looked up in his cage waiting on feeding time as the young T- Rex's will be interacting with the children all around the park. Plus there's many more activities for all ages.

Lastly, we have had an over whelming response for donations from many local businesses and the public from Lochgelly and Cowdenbeath areas and we would like to thank everyone of yous for your generosity. Yous are amazing!!.
