THE Fife Inter Clubs Annual Children's Gala at Craigtoun Park was a massive success.

The large number of adults and children, from as far afield as Valleyfield, Rosyth, Cardenden, Kinglassie and Kirkcaldy, were treated to a fine day of dry, and at times sunny, weather.

On their arrival at Craigtoun Park, the children were given their boxes of cakes, juice and crisps, with tea and coffee for the adults.

The committee were also able to hold most of their planned events which included the selection of the 2018 gala queen.

The children were also given the appropriate arm bands so that they could enjoy a number of other attractions at Craigtoun Park plus ice cream!

The committee were grateful to one of the lady park workers who selected the gala queen.

The Association president, Alex Burns MBE, thanked everyone who who helped on the day.

Said Alex: "It was a fine event and again our volunteers were key to the success of it.

"I would like to thank secretary Jim Paul; treasurer Duncan Bain and the big number of ladies for their assistance, and also Kevin and Kieran Burns and Mark Gibson.

"Yet again Ore Valley Housing Association gave us the use of their van which was greatly appreciated.

"It was brilliant to have such a big turn out on this the last of our children's fun days."
