IN an historic first for the Group, three members of the 4th Fife Cardenden Scouts were part of the International Scottish Jamborette which took place at Blair Atholl.

Dana Paterson, Erin Cuthbert and Robert Izatt were invited to be part of the event which saw hundreds of scouts involved in an 11 day experience.

The Blair Atholl Jamborette is Scottish Scouting's premier international event.

It brought together over 1,000 Explorer Scouts and Leaders from all over the world for a 10 day camp in a picturesque corner of Perthshire.

Every two years since 1946 the tranquil grounds of Blair Castle have been transformed with participants from all over the world coming together to camp and share in fun, friendship, and a massive range of adventurous activities and challenges.

For the 2018 camp around 1,700 Scouts and adults took part. Scottish Scouts representing every District and Region in the country were paired with counterparts from as far afield as Japan, Ecuador and Canada. Also taking part are youngsters from far-flung countries including Iceland, Hong Kong and the USA.

Said the 4th Fife's secretary Rosemary Wallace: "The group were delighted and honoured when three of our scouts were selected for the camp. A first for the 4th Fife.

"Well done Dana, Erin and Robert they did Cardenden proud."

It was a big honour for the Cardenden scout group who have been doing a lot of work to their hall and involved in a lot of activities.

Added Rosemary: "It is a busy time for the group as we are in the process of getting repairs done to the hall."
