THE highly talented Lochgelly Youth Performing Arts are set for a sell out at the Edinburgh Fringe.

They are having a busy two weeks with their version of The Addams Family hitting the Greenside Theatre from Monday August 13 to Friday August 19.

Then the following week they will be tuning up for a three day run at Lochgelly Centre Theatre.

In only 14 months of existence Lochgelly Youth has had an amazing run of performances showing the quality of talent there is among the young people of the Cowdenbeath-Lochgelly area

Director of The Addams Family, Liam Nardone, said this week that he could hardly believe the news of the ticket sales for the Greenside Theatre, in Nicolson Street for the show.

He and the principal cast depart to Edinburgh on Friday as they are staying in a six bedroom apartment for the duration of their time in Edinburgh, giving them a real touch of being in the Festival atmosphere.

Said Liam: "We have Saturday off in order to have a look at what is happening at the Fringe and enjoy the festival atmosphere and grab tickets to see some performances.

"We then have our technical rehearsal on Sunday with six performances of The Addams Family, running from Monday until Saturday and it’s great to hear that of all productions people can go to and see, they are choosing our one as we have nearly sold out all our performances."

He added: "During all this excitement we want to see other musical performances and see some sights and go for a little shopping spree if we have time.

"We then all return home on Sunday 19th for our band call with the orchestra at Lochgelly Centre Theatre and then have rehearsals for three days in order for us to have all the scenery, sound and lighting programmed.

"Then after all this we aren’t done yet as we will perform in Lochgelly Centre from Thursday August 23 until Saturday 25, all starting at 7pm, and including a Saturday matinee at 1pm".

Went on Liam: "We hope to see many members from other groups and companies there supporting this amazingly talented cast as they all have worked extremely hard on this one! It’s the best one yet!"
