OVER a period of 16 weeks a small group of Beath pupils were involved in a project to build an F24 Kit Car.

Led by a team from BRAG, who have been running the F24 programme for some time, alongside STEM ambassadors from GreenPower and ably assisted by staff from the CDT department at Beath, the group completed their vehicle successfully and were able to enter a national heat.

On Friday June 15 the team "Beath Boys" travelled up to Alford, in Aberdeenshire, to compete in the heat.

Although they did not win either of the two races a lot was learned and preparation is already underway to help the vehicle go faster next time. Special mention to Ben Park, whose portfolio about the making of the Kit Car, won 1st place for the 'Beath Boys'. Well done Ben.

Thanks go to Ann and Kirsten, from BRAG, and Mr McKean, in the CDT department, for accompanying the team to Alford and helping make the project such a success.
