SUNDAY will be a big day in Hill of Beath when one of Haws' stalwarts will be the subject of a testimonial.

Darrin Wright, who has played almost 500 games for the Haws, will be the centre of attention as the Pars Legends take on the Haws Legends at 2pm at Keirs Park.

The game will be preceded by local kids teams Bayside 2009s v Blue Brazil 2009s, featuring Darrin’s son Masson, who along with his sister Sasha, will be mascots for the main match.

The Hill of Beath team will feature team mates past and present who have played for the HAWS alongside player/coach Darrin during his 15 years at the club.

Said club secretary Scott Forrest: "Daz captained the club between 2006 and 2011, winning 18 trophies, including the East of Scotland Cup, the first time the HAWS captured that trophy, in 2015.

"Daz has played 483 competitive games for the club scoring 135 goals.

This season, as well as playing, Daz has taken on the role of Assistant

Manager and scored in the last ever “HAWS” Super League Junior match at Keirs Park in May, before the club join the East of Scotland Senior League, 15 years after he scored in his first Super League Junior match, also at Keirs Park– both against the same opposition!"

The DAFC Legends will feature David Westwood, Gary Mason, Nipper Thomson, Marvin Andrews, Stevie Crawford, Andy Tod, Stewart Petrie, Colin Cameron plus many more.

The Haws team will feature Stuart Hall, Craig Smart, Rikki Dair, John Mitchell, Lee Dair, Aly Gray, Barry Smith, Martin Thomson and Roger Duffin.
