THE Crosshill woman who is recovering from the Sepsis attack which saw medics have to remove her limbs to save her life has described the public support she has received as 'unbelievable.'

Marguerite Henderson was struck by the horrific condition almost six months ago which ended up with doctors having to remove her arms and legs to ensure that the poison caused by the Sepsis could be brought under control.

The Benarty gran is now recovering and has been stunned by the support her family's fundraising to ensure that she can get prosthetic arms and a special electric wheelchair and other things to get her life back to as close to normal as possible.

Marguerite and daughter Kimberley received another boost on Thursday when Cowdenbeath Rotary Cub made a donation of £1,000 to the fund.

The fund's target is £80,000 and they are well on their way to achieving that thanks to a series of charity events up and down the district.

Marguerite contracted Sepsis from the most minor of paper cuts and she was totally floored by what happened almost six months ago now.

She said on Thursday: "The infection seemed to spread so quickly out of nothing but really the work of the doctors and staff at the Victoria Hospital has been incredible.

"I just do not know what to say to them, if it was not for the team's incredible work I would not be here."

The Crosshill gran has been trying out her knew legs and has found it something she has to take a lot of time getting used to.

She hopes that the prosthetic arms that her family want her to have will help give her the chance to live life as normally as possible after an horrific past few months.

Added Marguerite: "It is very frustrating not being able to do normal things like picking up items but hopefully as time goes by I may get some of these facets back."

Marguerite is still being cared for by the team at the Vic but daughter Kimberley said that she hoped it would not be long until her mum was back home.

"It has been a really traumatic time for mum but she has kept up her spirits incredibly well," she said.

"And the support of the people of Benarty, Lochgelly, Cowdenbeath and the Cardenden area has been amazing."

Concluded Marguerite: "I cannot thank everyone enough for the generosity they have shown has been quite unbelievable."
