LOCHGELLY Youth Theatre is continuing to attract young people who want to enjoy the stage and they are tuning up for their Edinburgh Fringe appearance next month.

After three outstanding shows LYT have been running a Summer School event since the start of the holidays.

LYT director, Liam Nardone, was delighted with both the turn out and the enthusiasm of the youngsters who took part at the theatre group's base at the former Baptist Church Hall, in Station Road.

And now the LYT has their eyes on their next show which takes place in August when they stage The Addams Family, at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and Lochgelly Centre.

Said Liam: "The Summer School went down a treat.

"We had 40 kids or more learning new dances and songs to a new musical everyday for the Tuesday, Wednesday Thursday of the first three weeks of the holidays.

"They all had a ball and the reviews and comments we have received from the kids, and also parents, has been phenomenal".

He added: "This was a great way to get new people involved in the company and to see the high quality work we provide here in Lochgelly.

"We only have two weeks until we set sail to perform Addams family at the Fringe and everyone is raring to go. Tickets are on sale now for both Fringe and Lochgelly Centre".

There will also be a LYT panto this year, said Liam: "We have our Jack and the Beanstalk auditions on August 3 at Lochgelly Centre from 12 until 4.

"This is for all ages and abilities. Everyone is guaranteed a place in this as we want more people to join our musical family and we also want our company to grow and expand.

"The Addams Family is going extremely well and while it’s hard to say totally, it has been the best one for everyone fitting their roles perfectly and I can’t wait to share their talent with friends family and the community".
