PUPILS from Lochgelly High School were delighted to hand over a whopping 292.2kg of food donations to the Benarty Food Bank after a charity dress down day at the end of the school term.
The Food Bank volunteers were delighted with this total which equates to £520.10 worth of food.
Said one of the volunteers: “We really do appreciate this and will go a long way in supporting some of the most vulnerable in our community.”
It took a fair bit of work to get the various items of food organised into parcels ready to be sent to the Crosshill Centre base of the food bank.
Pupils also enjoyed a summer barbecue and outdoor games as they celebrated “Tropical Day” in glorious sunshine as part of the end of term festivities.
