A 33-YEAR-MAN armed with a sledgehammer was making threats in Cardenden.

William Rollo was acting aggressively, trying to start fires and threatened to self-harm.

Rollo, of Kirk Wynd, Kirkcaldy, appeared from custody at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

He admitted that on June 19, at Westfield Power Station, Cardenden, he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner, acted aggressively to police officers, threatened self-harm, attempted to set fire to pieces of paper and place them in a motor vehicle, took possession of a sledgehammer, brandished it and made threats of violence.

He also admitted that on July 9, at Balgreggie Road, Cardenden, he sent text messages to his mother which contained abusive remarks.

Defence solicitor Roshni Joshi said her client had returned to Fife for Father’s Day after working in Dunoon to discover his wife had left him with their children.

“His mental health has deteriorated to a significant degree as a result,” she added.

Sheriff Craig McSherry called for reports and Rollo will be sentenced on August 8.
