THROWING a sign at his partner in a Cowdenbeath pizza takeaway was topped off with a jail sentence for one man this week.
George Stewart, 35, of Heathery Wood, appeared for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Wednesday after admitting assaulting the woman on March 5 at Dominos by throwing the sign.
On March 28, at McColls store at Lumphinnans Road, Lochgelly, he stole a bottle of wine.
His defence solicitor said the assault was an "impulsive" incident which appeared out of character.
"He has demonstrated remorse," she said.
"The offending is all underpinned by what appears to be quite severe mental health problems and drug and alcohol abuse."
Sheriff Craig McSherry jailed Stewart for two months.
