COWDENBEATH fan, Elaine Fotheringham, was over the moon with the support she received for her sponsored abseil for the Blue Brazil's Club 135 fund.

The self confessed hater of heights undertook her adventure at Fordell Firs Scout Centre, near Crossgates, a week past Saturday and she had 'high hopes' of putting a decent sum into the fund which is geared to giving the football club a solid financial base.

The Blue Brazil stalwart, who willingly helps out behind the scenes at Central Park, was unsure how she would handle the drop to ground level but ended up having a lot of fun and raising upwards of £1,000 for Club 135.

Elaine said: "I wanted to do something to raise some money for this worthy cause and thought which not try an abseil, despite me not liking heights.

"Now on the day I was a bit apprehensive but the Fordell Firs people helped me a lot and once I started on the descent my worries disappeared.

"By the weekend I had around £950 raised with some more money still to come in so I cannot thank everyone who has sponsored me enough.

"They all have been brilliant and it is great to see Club 135 get such a good sum."

It was back to normal Saturday activities for Elaine at the weekend when she went to New Central Park to see the Blue Brazil v Kelty Hearts friendly.
