A FANTASTIC day weather wise turned into a fantastic community day as the 2018 Kelty Gala became a thoroughly memorable event.

Despite a nice breeze the temperatures soared in the sunshine and it attracted record crowds to the village streets and park.

Members of the gala committee and volunteers were on hand to tell participants where they were to be placed in the parade and it was probably the longest ever parade with several floats.

It headed around the streets as the pavements became packed and once it reached the park the afternoon entertainment began.

Part of the fun saw dynamic dance, a samba band, Paisley pipers, winners of the various awards and presented and the crowing of the 2019 royals.

There was races after the gala bags were enjoyed and there were some tremendous performances brilliant fun fare rides.

There was a fantastic turn out and the gala committee deserved tremendous credit for a great day being organised.

The kids had fun but then so did all age groups.

Sun lotion was the order of the day and it all added up to a fantastic time.
