THE volunteers who are setting up the community cafe in Kelty have received a lovely surprise from another group.

The Curnie club approached the 'Oor Wee Cafe' team, and offered them a cash donation of £80.

They recently held a swap shop event in Kirkcaldy which raised the £80. Two of the Curnie Club's volunteers knew of Oor Wee Cafe's plans to set up the community organisation in the village later this summer and wanted to help.

The volunteers went along to Kelty today to hand over the £80 cheque.

Seen in the picture is Billy Inglis and Daniel Caldwell, from Oor Wee Cafe receiving the donation.

Said Billy: "Oor Wee Cafe is delighted to have been given such a generous gesture and plan to work closely with the Curnie Club once the cafe is open".

Added Daniel: "Both Oor Wee Cafe and the Curnie Club are looking to address social isolation issues in the community so can work together to ensure everyone has a place to go and support when they need it.

"Sadly Oor Wee Cafe are still struggling to find a venue in Kelty to run the cafe from but they are hopeful someone will come forward soon. If anyone is able to offer a venue we would be extremely grateful to hear from them."
