THE annual senior citizens summer drive in Lochgelly was a huge success on Wednesday.

Over 100 over-seventies enjoyed the lovely weather during the day after the early morning cloud cover cleared and later, in the Town Hall, the catering supplied by Mrs Mary Ross, from Cowdenbeath.

The Lochgelly Re-union Committee were indebted to their sponsors who make the day possible, said committee secretary Margaret Blaikie: "The local shops, firms and businesses give their donations towards the Old Folks Re-union functions which take place every year in June and December and we are indebted to them."

These include, the West End Bar, MM Associates, Coral, Tone and Tan, Fife Flowers, Serenity, Perfect Pooches, Torleys, Old Ship, LOFT, A and A Fish Bar, Broadway Carpets and Furniture, I Candy Hairdresser, Scotbet, Golden Fry, Carrick Optician, The Kings, Pins and Needles, Special Occasions, FFDR, Paige Wright Barbers, Shardy's, Minto Lounge, M.E.N.S, Cat Care Centre, Top Knot, Lochgelly Bowling Club, Mossview At The Opera, the Chinese Takeaway, Beauty Spot, Kooner, A and M Spence Accountancy, Family Dentist, Shades, Regal Rubber, East Hydraulic Services, Charles Laing, RHI, Personalise Me, Ore Valley Housing Association, Baynes, Cafe Auchterderran Road, Robert Purvis, Exxon, and last but by no means least Lochgelly Co-operative.
