A SPECIAL event was held to mark the a Cowdenbeath nursery's 25th anniversary.

Trinity Church, Sinclair Drive, was the base for the event to mark 25 years of Rascals Nursery in the town.

Local councillor Darren Watt was delighted to present Rascals' owners June and Brian Miller the facility's Investors in Young People Award.

Darren took time off before he attended Cowdenbeath's big Ladbrokes League 2 play-off second leg tie with Cove Rangers and he was delighted that his team won to secure their place in the Scottish League.

During afternoon there was plenty to entertain children and adults at the Trinity Church including a bouncy castle, and Kenny the Clown providing entertainment, along with face painting, and many stalls to suit all ages.

Brian and June Miller took ownership of Rascals Nursery, Hill Street, Cowdenbeath in February 2011 from Pat Hughes.

The Nursery building was formerly the Headmaster's house of Foulford School, which used to be in Hill Street.

Over the last seven years Brian and June have welcomed many families into their Early Learning and Childcare setting. The said: "We have had the pleasure of working with some amazing staff, who have the children and families' interests at heart.

"The nursery accommodates three age groups from 6 weeks to 5 years of age, and are proud of the 'home from home' feel which contributes to the children settling in."

Brian and June have had many proud moments over the 7 years including achieving the Investors in People Award, the Investors in Young People Award, and the Eco School Green Flag Award.

2018 sees the Nursery celebrate 25 years in business in Cowdenbeath, and the occasion was marked by the Birthday BBQ and stalls, attracting Rascals past and present.
